Metro warehouses in Germany, including the warehouse in Groß-Gerau, are important logistics centres that support the supply chain of this international retailer. These facilities are responsible for receiving, storing and distributing goods to Metro stores in the region.

Advantages
Salary: €2,500;
Advance payment: €100 paid after the first two weeks, then €75 weekly until the first salary payment;

Job description and responsibilities
Receipt of goods:
  • Unloading trucks;
  • Checking received goods for compliance with accompanying documents.
Sorting and organising goods:
  • Placing goods on shelves or in storage areas;
  • Labelling goods in accordance with specifications.
Order preparation:
  • Picking goods in accordance with the order list (picking);
  • Packaging and preparing orders for shipment.
Warehouse contents:
  • Maintaining cleanliness and order in work areas;
  • Checking the serviceability of equipment used (e.g., electric trucks or forklifts).
Working with specialised equipment:
  • Using scanners for goods;
  • Operating lifting and transport equipment when necessary.
Teamwork:
  • Effective communication with colleagues and following instructions from managers.
Working hours:
  • Working days: 4–6 days per week;
  • First week: Monday–Thursday and Saturday–Sunday;
  • Second week: Tuesday–Friday;
  • Standard working hours: 7–8 hours per day;
  • Breaks: every 2 hours, a paid 10-minute break;
  • 30-minute lunch break — unpaid.
Documents required for employment:

Requirements for candidates:
  • Ability to perform physical work, including at low temperatures (0–2°C);

  • Basic knowledge of German (written and spoken) for communication in the workplace (numbers from 1 to 100 in German, a few key words for logging into the system);
  • Completion of training in infection control in accordance with §§ 42, 43 of the Infection Protection Act (IfSG) (training lasts 45 minutes online, the cost is covered by the employer);
  • Availability of financial resources for initial expenses;
  • Availability of necessary personal items (bed linen, crockery, hygiene products, etc.).
Rules and regulations:
  • Unjustified absences from work, tardiness, or failure to comply with established company rules are not permitted.
  • The consumption of alcohol and prohibited substances is strictly prohibited.
